Do your kids want to learn to climb?

Bouldering

Over-8s can boulder any time. There is no need to book, just turn up. Under 16s need a registered adult supervising. One adult can supervise up to two under 16s per visit.

If you are bringing under-8s to boulder, please call ahead. We sometimes limit it at our busiest times and a quick call saves you a wasted trip.

Roped climbing

Children of any age can climb on ropes at The Prop Store, as long as they are with an adult who has been signed off to belay them or supervise auto belays. Under 18s must be supervised on the ropes. New to it? Ask about our free auto belay inductions. Auto belays do the belaying for you, so it’s a super easy way to get your family onto the tall walls.

We also offer fun Family Tasters (for over 8s), where you get to try bouldering and auto belays with an instructor.

Classes

Kids classes at The Prop Store start at age 6, running through term time, with holiday activities in the school breaks.

Birthday Parties

We run awesome climbing birthday parties.

arrowCan I visit without climbing?

Yes, we have cafes in every centre where you can enjoy great coffee, sweet treats, savoury snacks and beer. These are open to the public. You do not need to register to use the cafes. We offer take out hot drinks if you are passing and need a quick caffeine (or decaf) fix.

Welcome to

The Prop Store

The Prop Store is a welcoming climbing centre in Maryhill, Glasgow, the kind of place you come to get fit, meet people and enjoy the workout. There’s a large bouldering area plus a small roped space with auto belays, lead and top-rope, and upstairs you’ll find a gym and training room. Our café pours locally roasted coffee and serves savouries and sweet treats, and our shop carries one of Scotland’s largest ranges of climbing shoes, with expert advice whenever you need it.

New to climbing?

The easiest way in is a Taster; a relaxed session covering bouldering and auto-belays, so you can try both and see what clicks. Come solo, or bring friends and family along to learn together.

“Recently got into climbing and can’t rate this centre well enough, from friendly staff to a great selection of fun problems and the small gym/training area upstairs. Seems to attract a good, friendly and respectful clientele too which is a great environment for a newbie like me.” Lauren Tait, Google review ★★★★★
