What is Student Fridays?

Student Fridays is the TCA student discount, running at all our centres across Glasgow, Bristol and Chippenham. Arrive any Friday after 3pm, present valid student ID and pay a flat £10 to climb for as long as you like. 

It is also the easiest way to end the week well. Fridays bring a proper student crowd, so whether you turn up with your flatmates or on your own, you will be climbing alongside people your own age, swapping beta on problems and probably catching up in the cafe. 

How much does it cost?

£10, and that covers your whole visit. Arrive at 3pm and stay until close if you want to. No session fees, no hourly charges, no booking.

The only extras are optional ones. If you do not have your own climbing shoes you can hire a pair at the desk.

When does the offer apply?

Every Friday from 3pm until close. Arrive before 3pm and standard prices apply, so time your visit for the afternoon or evening.

There are no term date restrictions either. The offer runs through exam season, summer, Christmas and everything in between, so if you are home for the holidays from a university or college elsewhere, it is still on.

Who counts as a student?

Anyone with valid student ID from a university or college. Bring it with you, as we will ask to see it at the desk. By joining TCA’s student association with your ID, you will get discounts automatically applied. If you already have a TCA account but have not yet identified yourself as a student, you can submit your ID via your Capitan login. 

Never climbed before?

No problem. Bouldering needs no experience and no course and beginners and regulars pay the same £10. Check the first time climbing info on our homepage before you visit and you can complete your registration forms online in advance to save time at the desk.
