Climbing Sessions for Schools and Youth Groups
Our bespoke climbing sessions for schools and youth groups are a fantastic way to get young people active, engaged and working together in a new environment. Whether you’re looking for a one-off experience, a regular series of sessions, or something to support curriculum goals (inc. GCSE Climbing), we can create a climbing experience tailored to your group.
TCA offers both bouldering (low-level climbing without ropes) and roped climbing, with expert instruction and a focus on safety, personal development and fun. Climbing helps build confidence, communication, and resilience — making it a brilliant activity for young people of all abilities.
We work with young people of both primary and secondary school age and our sessions can include:
- An exciting introduction to climbing in a safe, supportive environment
- Team-building and confidence-building games
- Skill development over multiple sessions
- Curriculum-linked learning, where appropriate

In the Southwest bouldering and roped climbing are available in our centres in Bristol and Chippenham. We’ll help you find the best set up for your group.

TCA is an accredited provider of the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS) and can also provide GCSE courses. All our instructors hold Mountain Training qualifications and have an enhanced DBS check. We cater for groups of all abilities, including those with additional needs. The Duke of Edinburgh Award
TCA offers comprehensive expedition packages as well as expedition support services. Whether you already run the award or are considering starting up an award we can offer services to suit your requirements. Our DofE manager has a wealth of experience in delivering challenging and engaging bronze, silver and gold expeditions.

Technical Advice
We have a number of Technical Advisers with the right qualifications and experience to provide advice on all aspects of running climbing walls.
Management Training
If you have your own roped climbing or bouldering walls, we’re able to train your staff to run them safely. This can cover a series of areas, including risk assessments, training procedures and group management.
