Temporary closures in Bristol and Chippenham

You’ll have seen the headlines: the Met Office has issued a Red Weather Warning for extreme heat and the next couple of days are set to be a real scorcher.

After a lot of thought, we’ve taken the decision to close all our SW centres on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June. This includes: The Mothership, The Church and The Arc. We won’t pretend it was easy. We know how much your climbing means to you and trust us, there’s nothing we’d rather do than keep our doors open and our walls busy.

So we’re shutting up shop for two days and we’re genuinely sad about it.

We’re keeping a close eye on the forecast and we’ll be back the moment it’s safe to climb again. There’s even a chance we’ll be able to reopen on Thursday evening if things cool down enough, so keep an eye on our social channels for the latest.

In the meantime, please look after yourselves. Drink plenty of water, find some shade, check in on the people and pets around you and we’ll see you back on the walls very soon.
