The Competition

This month (Feb 23), Visit Wiltshire are giving away an exciting opportunity to win a unique climbing experience at The Arc in Chippenham, PLUS a relaxing stay at Best Western The Angel Hotel.

Located on the Westmead Playing Fields, The Arc, is an exciting activity centre dedicated to all things climbing! Whether you are an avid climber, or looking to start a new adventure this year, The Arc offers a range of experiences from bouldering and roped climbing to auto belays.

Climbing is a great sport for physical and mental health that can be enjoyed by all ages. As a fun alternative to the gym, it helps to provide a full body workout that can be tailored to suit any ability. Featuring walls of all angles, with steep overhangs and balancy slabs, be sure to challenge yourself whilst having loads of fun at The Arc!

The Angel Hotel is superbly located and offers a unique stay for those looking to relax and wind down this season. The 400-year-old coaching inn now includes a gym, indoor pool, courtyard garden and bedroom wing as well as a new brasserie, bar, and lounge to help create the ideal surrounding for your stay!

Climbing at The Arc

The winning voucher is redeemable on entry, cafe and shop purchases in person at reception. 

You can try bouldering anytime without having to complete a course. You do not need to book to boulder. You can complete forms online before you visit which include a safety video. Competent, experienced rope climbers can also drop-in anytime to climb. See drop-in prices.

We offer roped courses for new climbers. These must be booked online in advance as detailed below. Read useful FAQs about visiting The Arc, including climbing age restrictions, parking information and more. If you are visiting for bouldering or if you are a competent, experienced rope climber you may stay as long as you want after paying in. If you are on a course, this will have a specified length (see web when booking). 

The Arc cafe serves great coffee, pastries, specials, pizzas, burgers, kids meals and more. You do not not need to climb to use the cafe. There is no charge to visit the skatepark or kids play park.

The Arc is open 7 days a week: Mon-Fri 9.30am-10pm / Sat-Sun 9am-6pm.
