TCA closure
As a result of the government’s announcement this afternoon, it is with great sadness that we are closing all TCA centres in Bristol and Glasgow effective from tomorrow morning (Tue 17 March).
We are reeling from this decision and know that you will be too, but it was something we could certainly see on the horizon and it is clear that we all have to take extreme steps to stop the spread of coronavirus and in particular to flatten the curve of the impact on the NHS.
YOUR MEMBERSHIP
First and foremost, if you are a member with a pre-paid pass or regular EFT billing, your pass will be frozen. Our system does not have a magic button to do this for all members instantly, but we will be working quickly in the background to change all pass settings ASAP. They will be automatically re-activated when (hopefully not if) we reopen.
THE IMPACT ON OUR COMMUNITY
We know that climbing is a very important part of your lives and that the communities that exist within our centres go far beyond just sport. We want to keep TCA alive throughout this crisis, so that we can reopen our facilities and preserve jobs for our valued employees. There are things you can do to help us survive:
HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT TCA
Stay members – We are asking that all current pass-holders do not cancel their membership, but rather stick with the freeze described above. This will be a significant factor in helping TCA survive. You can, of course, cancel your membership by visiting My TCA.
Shop online – As it stands our online shop will still be trading although we may experience delays in sourcing certain products. If there was anything you were about to buy, we’d really appreciate your custom. There are lots of items in stock that are ready to ship*.
Be patient – While all staff have been sent notifications about this closure, not all will be up to speed immediately on how to manage this. Where we do not have immediate answers, we will aim to get back to you promptly. People with existing bookings will be contacted directly.
STAY SAFE
These are exceptional times and we really want our community to stay strong and resilient so that we can all get back to doing what we love best.
