Southwest schools’ bouldering League 2022-23
Final Scores!
The bouldering league will return in the Autumn 2023.
Bouldering is a branch of rock climbing, performed at low level and above crash mats it allows participants to entirely focus on the techniques and movements needed to climb on the steepest walls. As there is no technical safety equipment involved, no previous bouldering experience is required in order to compete.
The league consists of 4 x 1.5hr rounds with 20 blocs (climbs) in each round. We take the best 3 scores from 4 rounds. This allows you to miss the first round without forfeiting your chances in the league.
- R1 1-7pm 10th-12th October 2022
- R2 1-7pm 5th-7th December 2022
- R3 1-7pm 6th-8th February 2023
- R4 1-7pm 20-22nd March 2023
The 1.5hr session can be completed at any time between 1pm and 7pm on the dates advertised. There are 4 categories:
- Junior boys, year 7-9
- Junior girls, year 7-9
- Senior boys, year 10-13
- Senior girls, year 10-13
Schools can choose to field both individuals and/or teams of 3. Prizes provided by our sponsors Black Diamond will be awarded to the winning teams in each category and individual winners in each category. Points are awarded for each bloc attempted, and the winning teams are decided by the best results from 3 of the 4 rounds. This allows competitors to a missed around without forfeiting their position in the league.
