Climbing is more than a sport.
It can help people to step up out of the confines of expectations, disability, age and even social circumstances.
Climbing can be enjoyed by absolute beginners as much as world-class champions, by toddlers as much as pensioners. The benefits to both mental and physical health are proven daily in climbing centres across the world.
As TCA opens its fifth climbing centre – built by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity and operated by TCA – we talked to a variety of climbers about their experiences and invited a group of local youngsters from The Rise Trust to try it for the first time at The Arc.
This film was made by Mark Vaughan for TCA. It’s 7mins 44.
