An interview with a doctor
climbing during the pandemic
TCA’s Sam Scriven spoke to his friend Ry about the challenges of working as a doctor in the intensive care unit during the Covid-19 pandemic and how he managed to climb Requiem E8 at Dumbarton Rock and Dalriada E7 on The Cobbler in the Arrochar Alps – some of Scotland’s finest hard trad lines – in one season whilst still staying sane.
Ry reflects on motivations, difficulties, support from friends and how climbing helped him to cope with work on the NHS front lines.
