Subsidised or free group visits to The Arc

The Arc was built by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity (CBLC) and is operated by The Climbing Academy (TCA).

CBLC manages funds that help underprivileged and marginalised groups, amongst others within Chippenham. As part of their relationship with TCA, certain groups registered in the parish of Chippenham may apply for free session or discounted instructed climbing sessions at The Arc.

Climbing sessions

There are a number of different sessions available. Within 5 working days of application, we will notify you via email from our ‘Arc Bookings‘ email to let you know whether you are eligible for free and or discounted sessions. We will then follow this up to confirm your session. Please check your spam or get in touch if you haven’t heard from us after 5 days.

Please note that instructors are limited to teaching 9 participants, so for every additional 9 participants there will be a cost of £35 to cover an additional instructor.

FREE SESSIONS

– For youth groups only.
– Eligible youth groups can get up to 1 free session every 6 months at The Arc.
– A free session consists of 1 instructor, for 1hr, for up to 9 participants.
– You only need to register once.
– You may bring more than 9 participants but there will be charges as shown below.

0-9 participants = Free
10-18 participants = £35
10-27 participants = £70

DISCOUNTED SESSIONS

FIRST VISIT

– For all eligible groups.
– Just £35 for 1 instructor, for 1hr, for up to 9 participants.
– You may bring more than 9 participants but there will be charges as shown below.

0-9 participants = £35
10-18 participants = £70
10-27 participants = £105

REPEAT VISITS

– £35 for 1 instructor, for 1hr, for up to 9 participants.
– Plus an additional £5 per person
– You may bring more than 9 participants but there will be charges as shown below.

0-9 participants = £35 + £5 per person
10-18 participants = £70 + £5 per person
10-27 participants = £105 + £5 per person

All bookings require a minimum of 2 weeks notice from the time you have received a response of eligibility.
