Celebrating Pride Month with Glasgow Queer Adventures

To celebrate Pride Month, The Climbing Academy (TCA) is teaming up with Glasgow Queer Adventures to host two special indoor bouldering socials this June.

Building an inclusive, welcoming community is at the heart of what we do. While our regular community groups usually require standard gym entry or a TCA membership, we are breaking down barriers this Pride. We are offering 50 completely free spaces for our June sessions to help old friends reconnect and newcomers discover the Glasgow climbing scene.

Whether you are an experienced climber looking for a new crew or a complete beginner wanting to try bouldering for the first time, these events are designed for you.

📅 The Pride Month Schedule

We are hosting one social at each of our Glasgow climbing gyms.

Session 1: The Prop Store

  • When: Sunday 14 June at 10.30am-12.30pm
  • Where: The Prop Store, Maryhill
  • Vibe: Instructor-Led. Perfect if you are brand new to the sport and feeling a bit anxious. An instructor will be on hand to guide the group, hand out rental shoes, and help you feel right at home on the mats.

Session 2: The Newsroom

  • When: Tuesday 23 June at 6-9pm
  • Where: The Newsroom, Kinning Park
  • Vibe: Social Climb. This is a relaxed, self-directed session focused entirely on community, trying hard problems together, and hanging out. Regular members of Glasgow Queer Adventures will be there helping facilitate the session.

🎟️ How to Claim Your Free Space

Each session has 25 free spaces available, which include your entry fee and climbing shoe hire.

  • For TCA Pass-holders: You can attend as normal! Your entry is already covered by your pass, meaning these 25 free slots can go directly to beginners or non pass-holders who need them most.
  • How to Book: Slots must be reserved in advance to manage gym capacity safely.

Book The Prop Store – Sun 14 Jun

Book The Newsroom – Tue 23 Jun
