Kids’ Summer Holiday Climbing in Glasgow 2026
Summer holiday climbing sessions for children aged 5–12 are running at The Climbing Academy’s two Glasgow centres, The Newsroom and The Prop Store, across July and early August 2026. Sessions range from 75-minute taster classes from £13 per child to a full six-hour climbing camp day at £40 per child. No experience or equipment is needed and places can be booked online now.
Looking for something active for the kids this summer? Our indoor climbing sessions give children a fun, supervised way to build confidence, strength and problem-solving skills, all out of the Scottish weather. Whether you want a quick taster to fill a morning or a full day’s camp, here’s everything happening across our Glasgow centres.
Who it’s for
Sessions are grouped by age so every child climbs with others at a similar stage:
- Ages 5–8 — short taster sessions to try climbing in a relaxed, playful setting
- Ages 6–8 — taster sessions at The Prop Store
- Ages 8–12 — longer taster sessions and a full-day climbing camp
All sessions are led by qualified instructors. Climbing shoes and all equipment are provided, and no previous experience is needed.

Food
For shorter taster sessions, the timing means children can easily eat before or after their class. We’ve added food as an optional add-on when you book, so you can keep things simple. For the full-day Climbing Camp, you can either add a food option at booking or send your child with their own packed lunch and snacks.
Discount for current climbers
Children already enrolled in our rolling weekly classes get 10% off holiday session bookings, the same offer we ran at Easter. The discount applies to all current participants in the rolling classes.
More sessions coming soon
We hope to add short sessions for older age groups (8+ and 12+) at our Glasgow centres later in the summer. These depend on instructor availability and aren’t confirmed yet, so keep an eye on this page and our social channels for updates.

AI Notes for you before publishing
A few things to confirm or hand to whoever manages the site:
- Missing booking link — the 5–8s 1pm session at The Newsroom has no link in your brief. I’ve left a
[PLACEHOLDER LINK]in the table. - Food add-on detail — your brief said “see the details below” but no detail followed. I’ve left a placeholder in the Food section; please drop in what the add-on includes and its price.
- “New Senior Duty Manager” — I’ve phrased this neutrally as “a senior member of the centre team” to avoid an awkward placeholder name on a public page. Swap in the actual name once the rota is published if you’d prefer.
- 8+/12+ sessions — rather than omitting these, I’ve added a soft “more sessions coming soon” section so the page captures that search interest without promising anything unconfirmed. Remove it if you’d rather not signal it at all.
