This April, we’re hosting a one-day bouldering competition that’s designed to be exactly what comps should be – welcoming, challenging and good fun, whether it’s your first ever event or you thrive on competition.

The Spring Comp is open to everyone. If you’ve never entered a bouldering competition before, this is a great opportunity to give it a go in a relaxed and supportive environment. You’ll have the chance to push yourself a little further than usual, try problems you might normally walk past and enjoy the buzz that comes from climbing alongside lots of other motivated climbers.

For those who love a challenge and enjoy measuring themselves against strong competition, the day comp offers plenty to get stuck into. We’ll be setting 25 brand-new boulder problems, designed to test a wide range of styles – from technical problem-solving to strength, coordination, and composure under pressure.

How the day works

The daytime competition starts at 12 noon, giving competitors plenty of time to work through the problems at their own pace. The focus is on good climbing and fun. It’s just £5 plus your usual entry (so if you have a TCA pass it’s just £5 to enter).

Evening finals – a great spectator event

As the day draws to a close, the competition shifts into evening finals, which are always a highlight. This is where you’ll see the strongest climbers step up and really show what they’re made of. Finals are fast-paced, exciting, and brilliant to watch – even if you’re not competing yourself.

Friends, family, and fellow climbers are very welcome to come along and spectate. If you’ve never watched a live climbing final before, it’s a great chance to experience the atmosphere and cheer people on.

The cafe will be open all day with great savoury snacks, sweets treats and awesome coffee.
