TCA Winter Series Bouldering Comps 2026-27
The TCA Winter Series is back, our four-round annual bouldering competition. We have competitions running in Bristol and Glasgow from October 2026 to February 2027. Whether it is your first ever comp or you are gunning for the top spot, there is a problem on the wall with your name on it.
TCA Bouldering comps: the basics
Our comps are for everyone. We set problems across the full range, so you will find your level whether you are:
- A first-timer wanting to give competing a go somewhere friendly and low-pressure
- A regular climber up for a challenge and a good atmosphere
- A strong climber hunting hard sends and a podium finish
Every round is built to be sociable with climbs easy enough for first-timers and tough enough to test the sharp end of the field too. The competitions happen at the following centres:
- Bristol – The Mothership
- Glasgow – rounds split between The Newsroom and The Prop Store
Save the dates: Winter Series 2026/27
Four rounds, four fresh sets of problems, one overall series winner. Every round brings a brand new set of boulders, with scores feeding into the overall series leaderboard.
- Round 1 — Saturday 31 October 2026 (fancy dress optional, though it is Halloween…)
- Round 2 — Saturday 21 November 2026
- Round 3 — Saturday 30 January 2027
- Round 4 — Saturday 27 February 2027
You can turbo boost your entry this year. Get 10 extra points if you dress up for Halloween in round 1!
How it works
Our talented route setting teams builds a fresh spread of problems for each round. Here is the drill:
- Register online or in centre (booking links will be released later in the summer)
- Climb the comp problems on the day within a time slot
- Log your scores as you go
- Rack up points towards the series leaderboard
Enter a single round just for the fun of it, or commit to all four and chase the series title.
Who can enter
Everyone. Genuinely. You do not need an elite grade or a single comp under your belt. We welcome first-time competitors, recreational climbers and advanced climbers. The whole point is a fun, supportive day out for the climbing community. Every age group has an Open category (all welcome) and a Women’s category:
- Senior/Adults (16-44)
- Youth u16 (15 and under)
- Veteran (45+)
What to expect
- Fresh boulder problems across every difficulty level
- A friendly, buzzing community feel
- Music, energy and proper competition-day atmosphere
- Leaderboards updated after each round
- Tons of prizes – round prizes, overall series prizes and raffle prizes just for turning up. Even if you are brand new, it is well worth a go.

Always fancied entering but never quite felt ready? Here is the secret: you do not feel ready, you get ready, one session at a time. The comp is in the diary now. Why not set a target to practice in the lead up (could you commit to once a week?) and you'll probably surprise yourself the difference it makes. Let's do this!
