The Glasgow Winter Series 24-25

The TCA Winter Series is back, kicking off the season with four exciting rounds of bouldering competitions.

TCA WINTER SERIES 2024/25

Our annual bouldering comp series format is back and follows the same pattern as last year’s. 3 main rounds will determine who gets to the finals. On finals day, we will also run a fun comp. If you participated in last year’s Winter Series, you’ll know to expect silly props and fun challenges. Round 1 at The Prop Store will also be a round of the SNBL.

Entry for each comp will be £5 plus standard entry* and can be booked via the link below. Competitors will submit scores through the Griptonite app. After the fun comp has been completed, there will be finals where the top competitors will battle it out to be crowned the 2024/25 Winter Series winners. Comps are great fun and finals are always impressive to watch, so add the dates to your diary.

Comps aren’t just for the elite climbers. All abilities are welcome, with a great supportive atmosphere. Comps are a terrific way to push yourself on problems you might not ordinarily try. So why not join the fun this year?

• Fun comp and finals: Sat 22 February @ The Newsroom

Round 3 Re-scheduled + New Format: 
This will now be a project comp. You have from 5pm on Mon 27 Jan - 10pm Mon 3 Feb to submit your scores.
There will be 20 marked problems in The Prop Store. All scores to be submitted via Griptonite. 
You don't need to submit all your scores in one day. You can come in multiple times throughout the week and submit scores for different problems. 
New scoring system will be 10 points for a tick, no matter how many tries. 7 extra points for a flash. 
No charge for this round. No booking required. Those that purchased a ticket will be refunded.

FINALS TIMING

Fun comp: 1-4pm
Finals: 4.30-6.30pm
Raffle: 7-7.30pm

THE WINNERS

There will be prizes for winners on the day but also a raffle for all competitors, so it’s worth taking part!

All names will be displayed on the Griptonite leaderboard, so if you would prefer to remain anonymous, you can submit an entry using a nickname.

BOOKING

Following on from feedback we received from last year’s comp, to speed up the check-in process, we’ve opened up an online booking system again this year so you can purchase your ticket in advance. You will still need to scan the Griptonite QR code at the desk. If the event sells out online, we will have a small number of tickets on the day. If you’d like to guarantee a spot, we’d recommend definitely booking online in advance.
