ROPED CLIMBING CLASSES

NICAS Climbing (8-16s)

NICAS Climbing is the National Indoor Climbing Award Schemes. Our NICAS sessions are roped climbing classes for 8-16yrs. Participants will work through a syllabus to develop climbing technique whilst progressing through grades, growing in confidence and making friends!

Sessions run on Saturdays and Sundays during term time and can be booked in termly blocks or single sessions once the block has started. 8-16yrs can book straight onto NICAS Level 1 classes without the need for any prior experience. Candidates must be registered with NICAS which costs £7.50 and includes a logbook. If you’re new to TCA, you’ll need to complete an Under 18 Supervised form for your youngster. Complete Form A online in advance and make things more efficient when you arrive.

Structured development

NICAS is the perfect structure to lead young climbers as they develop but is also great for DofE and other awards. The Prop Store is a National Indoor Climbing Award Schemes (NICAS) Centre. All our instructors hold Mountain Training qualifications and have an enhanced DBS check.

Sessions will not run on the following holidays:

Sep weekend: 24-25/09/2022
Oct break: 15-22/10/2022
Christmas: 24-31/12/2022
Mid-term break: 11-12/02/2023
Easter: 01-15/04/2023
Mayday: 29-30/04/2023
May weekend: 27-28/05/2023

PLEASE NOTE: 16-17 year olds can join as a TCA boulder only member and boulder independently. They just need to watch a safety video and complete an online registration form.
