Ages 8-16

White Angles

For those aged 8-16, our Boulder Club is a great way for young people to start climbing.

As part of the National Indoor Bouldering Award Scheme (NIBAS), Boulder club is structured through a 5 level structure that starts with safe and simple bouldering and moves all the way up to high-performance climbing. Each level will take the youngster a little longer to complete than the previous one as it builds skills, knowledge, confidence and performance.

The candidate logbook costs £7.50 which needs to be purchased when the child is enrolled onto level 1 of the award.

If your child is coming to Boulder Club for the first time, we’d advise that you arrive 20 minutes earlier to watch our safety video and complete a registration form. You can make this more efficient by completing the form online here.

NIBAS is the perfect structure to lead young boulderers as they develop but is also great for DofE and other awards. If your child would prefer to attend roped climbing classes, we run these at The Prop Store in Maryhill.

We run blocks of weekend classes that can be booked in advance allowing you to secure a place in a regular course. If there are any places remaining, these will go on sale as single sessions on the dates shown below. We also run bookable single sessions on weekends throughout the year and for longer periods during the school holidays.

For newcomers, Level 1 can be booked anytime using the links below. Current attendees of NIBAS will be sent a direct link to re-book the next block at the correct level – this link will be emailed on the day of the next block on-sale date.

If your child would like to try climbing before booking onto a course, you can bring them to TCA any time (if you climb with them) OR book onto our “single sessions” which are led by instructors.

PLEASE NOTE: 16-17 year olds can join as a TCA member and climb independently. They just need to watch a safety video and complete an online registration form.
