Harry Kauntze
CHIROPRACTOR
Harry is a regular at TCA, having taken up climbing a year ago. He trained as a chiropractor in 2001 after a career as a safari guide in Botswana and now runs his own practice in Bristol.
His main interests are fly fishing, mountaineering and climbing.
About Chiropractic:
Chiropractors are primary health-care professionals that specialise in the diagnosis, treatment and overall management of all types of sport, work and posture related problems.
The focus with chiropractic is on detecting and dealing with dysfunctional movement patterns in joints and muscles that are often the cause pain and inflammation.
Chiropractic treatment can be of great benefit to climbers: the nature of climbing repetitively exaggerates spinal curves that can lead to gradual restriction in joint movement and pain. Postural issues in the neck and thoracic spine can also have associated shoulder problems. Chiropractic treatments help to undo this by restoring normal movement and alignment to the body.
He is looking forward to helping TCA climbers recover from their injuries and get the most out of their bodies.
Feel free to collar him at the academy to ask any questions you may have. For further information or to book a treatment at TCA call: 0117 972 3518 or via email through his website: www.bristolbackpain.com

Rupert Cross
OSTEOPATH
BOst
Rupert studied for four years at the British School of Osteopathy, graduating with a Bachelor degree in Osteopathy. Rupert has been climbing on and off for the past 17 years and enjoys most styles of climbing. He has suffered from various climbing related injuries and these have motivated a keen interest in the treatment, rehabilitation and personal management of climbing injuries.
Osteopathy is a primary health care practice that is regulated by The General Osteopathic Council. Osteopaths work using their knowledge of diagnosis and a highly developed sense of touch to assess the musculoskeletal system. When a problem is identified, treatment can take the form of manipulating joints, soft tissue release and gentle stretching. A course of treatments will then be discussed with the patient. Advice and management is paramount to all osteopathic treatment allowing patients to actively rehabilitate themselves.
Osteopaths work to create an environment within the body to allow for structural balance, facilitating the healing process and helping to prevent further injury. All this is so you can stick that finishing hold.
If you want to chat about anything or to book an appointment, give me a ring or catch me at TCA and I’ll be happy to help.
